Announcements to members, June 2024
Mellieha Judo Club: From passion project to growing community!
We've come a long way since Sensei Serge's dedication first sparked our club. Huge thanks to Sensei David for keeping the spirit alive, and to Nicolas for kick-starting the adult group!
Your continued support has made all the difference. To keep things rolling, we're excited to say that some changes are coming for the club.
Before anything, we can't thank you enough for being part of the Mellieħa Judo Club! You're the heart of our community.
We're buzzing with some upcoming plans, but before we reveal everything, we're focusing on a new structure for the club. Official announcements are on the way, but we wanted to keep you in the loop – your club is definitely moving forward!
In the meantime, some changes are starting today.
1. Membership update needed
We've been working since January to renew memberships for Mellieha Judo Club and for the Federation but we must push our efforts.
Simply head over to the "Application page" on our website and follow the steps.
Upcoming events organised by the Malta Judo Federation require valid Federation memberships, including fees. All judokas must be members of the Federation to participate.
2. Membership fees and Session fees to keep our Dojo running
The club relies on timely payments to operate effectively and provide judo instruction for all our practitioners. To ensure the financial stability and responsible management of the club, payment be received in full before participation. Unfortunately, practitioners with outstanding fees may be refused entry until payment is received.
If you have any outstanding fees, please settle them before the next session to avoid any disruptions in your training.
We appreciate your prompt attention to this matter.
Effective today:
- To participate in any session, club membership fees are now required upfront.
- Federation membership fees are due before participation to any Federation event.
Effective from the 1st of July 2024:
- Session fees will be due before the 1st session of each month to ensure smooth operations.
3. Payment methods
We understand the comfort of using David's Revolut account for payments in the past. However, to streamline our finances, we can no longer accept payments through this method.
We're actively working on offering online payments and bank transfers soon.
In the meantime, cash payment is the only payment method accepted. All payments sent to David's Revolut will be refused or returned.
Effective today:
- David's Revolut: No longer accepted.
- Mellieha Judo Club: Cash payments only (for now).
4. Partial session rescheduling between 12th and 15th of June
David, alongside some Mellieha Judo Club judokas, will be participating in the exciting International Green Camp 2024 in Italy from June 11th to 16th!
We understand David's absence might impact the regular schedule. To minimize disruption, we've planned an alternative schedule for those dates.
Multiple parents asked for an alternative schedule in the past, we take this opportunity to give it a try.
