Membership Application Process
All new participants are invited to attend a single introductory lesson to experience judo firsthand. However, to continue training beyond the introductory lesson, formal registration is mandatory.
Failure to register or renew membership within this timeframe will result in the participant being unable to actively participate in further training sessions and will be limited to observing from the sidelines.

FAQ
Why do I need a medical certificate?
We care about you! To keep everyone safe, a medical check helps avoid potential injuries. Think of it as a high-five from our instructors (who aren't doctors!). We welcome everyone but need to know your individual conditions to adapt.
Is the image rights authorisation mandatory?
We need your permission to use photos/videos (think cool judo action shots!) on our blog, following data privacy rules. Don't worry, if you say no, we'll just remove you from the pic. Just let us know!
Can I send you a digital portrait photography instead of a paper version?
We need a head-and-shoulders shot (digital is fine!) for our member directory and your official judo profile on the IJF systems. Keep it cool, but keep it dojo-appropriate!
Why do you need my ID Card?
The Malta Judo Federation does not issue member IDs per judoka. Therefore, they uses your ID to track your membership and benefits. Think of it as your judo passport!
Why do I need to pay the Malta Judo Federation fees?
The Federation supports the judo community across Malta.
As a Club, we pay a Club Membership fee too. At Yukizuna Judo Club, the Federation supports us by providing the tatamis in the Big Dojo.
You get perks too:
- Access to grading recognised by the International Judo Federation. See Malta Judo Federation Grade Point System and Malta Judo Federation Grading Application Form for more details. Or visit our dedicated reference page.
- Access to official events held by the Federation. These events offer the possibility for you to earn some points to unlock your next grading. Check out our website for details.
The Yukizuna Judo Club membership fees look new to me, why?
We kept it low, but every member has costs to be covered. This fee helps us keep things rolling, even if you just step on the tatami once a year. In the past, David covered these costs, but with more awesome judokas like you, we need to adjust.
