DNS

Acquiring a domain name is a fundamental step in establishing a strong digital presence. A domain name serves as a unique online address, similar to a physical storefront. It builds trust and legitimacy and authenticity. A domain name is also the digital identity, representing the brand and the organisation. It allows a control of online narrative and ensure consistency across platforms. A well-chosen domain name makes it harder for imposters to create copycat websites or social media profiles, mitigating brand hijacking and phishing attempts.

Domain names

The DNS management is included in the operation and management services by Weinto.

Emails

Contacts interacting with the organisation should not trust communication from email addresses not ending by @melliehajudoclub.org or @yukizunajudoclub.org.

Members of the organisation are mainly identified by an email address. For this purpose, both domains melliehajudoclub.org and @yukizunajudoclub.org are used.

Domain melliehajudoclub.org

The organisation provides Google Workspace accounts to some members.

The club also uses a free plan from Brevo to send transactional email from third softwares via dedicated API tokens created by nicolas.bages@melliehajudoclub.org.

Domain yukizunajudoclub.org

On 2024-07-04, the organisation made the acquisition of the following 2 domain names:

• yukizuna.org: Main domain, official communication.
• yukizuna.com: Brand protection.

DNS records and Google Workspace are configured to deliver emails sent to 2 domains:

• melliehajudoclub.org
• yukizuna.org

Your emails for melliehajudoclub.org are currently managed by your Google user account. For now, all emails sent to @yukizunajudoclub.org will be automatically forwarded to your inbox @melliehajudoclub.org.

Example:

An email sent to secretary@yukizunajudoclub.org will be delivered in the mailbox of secretary@melliehajudoclub.org, thus, to david.cucic@melliehajudoclub.org.

That said, this system is only an alias. You can receive emails sent TO these email addresses but you cannot send emails FROM them. That will change in the future, when the club will be registered.

Mailing and marketing automation

The organisation has a Brevo account for mass mailing and marketing automation.

Softwares and Applications

Storage

Use Google Drive for:

• Documents that are okay to be accessed remotely (e.g., practice schedules, newsletters).
• Files intended for collaboration among members (e.g., training manuals, workout plans).

Versionning

Yukizuna Judo Club uses GIT and Gitlab as a GIT server.
