Membership Policy
Purpose
This document outlines the policies and procedures governing membership in Yukizuna Judo Club. It aims to ensure clear understanding of membership benefits, responsibilities, and expectations for a positive and inclusive training environment.
Scope
This policy applies to all individuals seeking membership in Yukizuna Judo Club, including adults, children, and families.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Club Administrator: Maintains all membership records, processes applications, collects fees, and enforces membership policies.
- Coaches / Instructors: Ensure members follow safety protocols and uphold the club's code of conduct.
- Members: Comply with club policies, pay membership fees on time, and maintain appropriate judo etiquette.
Statement
Membership Eligibility
Open to individuals of:
- all ages from 4 years old or above on the application day or by december of the sport season
- clean (without diaper),
- all experience levels,
- subject to completion of an application form and any required safety clearances.
Membership Tiers
Different membership tiers may be offered based on age, experience, and training frequency. Fees will be clearly stated for each tier.
Application
All new participants are invited to attend a single introductory lesson to experience judo firsthand. However, to continue training beyond the introductory lesson, formal registration is mandatory.
Applicants must submit a completed application form, including emergency contact information and medical clearance if necessary.
All practitioners will be granted a grace period of 14 days from their initial training session to complete the registration or renewal process.
This file will include:
- The agreement to the Internal rules of the club
- The membership application form
- Copy of the Malta Judo Federation ID Card (if applicable)
- Valid medical certificate cleared for judo activity
- Signed Image Rights Authorization
- One recent passport-sized photograph
- A copy of the ID card
Failure to register or renew membership within this timeframe will result in the participant being unable to actively participate in further training sessions and will be limited to observing from the sidelines.
Membership Period
Annual memberships will run from September to June. Renewals will be required each year.
Training Participation
Members must adhere to scheduled training times and wear appropriate Judo Gi attire.
Safety and Conduct
Members are expected to maintain a respectful and positive training environment, free from harassment, discrimination, or violence.
Fees and Payments
Membership fees must be paid in full before training commences. Late payers may be denied entry.
Guest Training
Guests may participate in a limited number of classes with prior approval and payment of a guest fee.
Disciplinary Action
The club reserves the right to take disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion, for violations of its policies or code of conduct.
Data Privacy
Member information will be collected and stored in accordance with data privacy regulations.
Exceptions
The Club Administrator may, on a case-by-case basis, consider exceptions to the policies outlined above for justified reasons. Any exceptions will be documented and approved by the Club Administrator or the President.
